The light source has three independent LEDs functioning as coaxial and red-reflex illuminations. The world's first surgical microscope with independent light intensity adjustment for coaxial and red-reflex illumination to suit each patient case and surgeon’s preference.
The red-reflex illumination is an essential function for cataract surgery and OM-19 is equipped with an optical system uniquely designed by TAKAGI to provide uniform red-reflex illumination during surgeries. Red -reflex illumination is the light that illuminates the crystalline lens by reflecting the light that hits the fundus. OM-19 provides a safe operating environment for both patients and surgeons as it offers stable red-reflex illumination even for advanced cataracts.
