The manufacturing industry in Nagano Prefecture boasts its production DNA, which was cultivated in the silk industry flourishing about a hundred years ago, and constitutes one of Japan’s leading industrial hub of precision machinery, electronic and optical equipment as well as ICT leveraged by the topnotch microfabrication competencies especially found in Suwa area known as “the Switzerland of the East.”
The companies operating in the prefecture will be horizontally deploying their unique technologies of ultra-fine processing which they have cultivated over the years into the medical devices as promising business field harmonized with the Nagano prefectural program intended for “health and medical care” as one of the growth areas.
I have our members work with Nagano Prefecture to spur the companies to enter the medical device industry in line with the “Nagano Prefecture Medical Device Industry Promotion Vision” formulated in March 2019.
In the development of the global medical device industry, the ultra-fine processing technology of SMDs is essential for the creation of new products from major manufacturers. Besides. it’s indispensable that the companies with superior technology, such as R&D-oriented SMDs and venture companies. should collaborate with large enterprises to realize the said development.
